Umpires & Scorekeeping

Umpires

Majors and Triple A:
All games are umpired by trained officials under contract with RBLL.  Junior Umpires occasionally serve as base umpires.

Double A:
All games are youth umpired by a trained Junior Umpire (see below).

T-Ball, Rookie and Single A:
All games are parent umpired.

Junior Umpires

The RBLL Junior Umpire program is open to currently or previously RBLL registered young adults age 13 and older.  The Junior Umpires serve as our umpires for the Double A division during the spring season.  These are just some of the benefits of being a Junior Umpire for RBLL:

  • Community service hours (2 hours per game)
  • Free training
  • Join the fun and be a part of the exciting group of young leaders in the community

Please contact us if you're interested in joining our program by writing us at  [email protected].

Scorekeeping

Paper Scorekeeping:
RBLL Double A, Triple A, and Majors games are scored by parent volunteers.  The home team keeps the official scorebook and pitch count records of both teams.  The home team manager reports the pitch counts in the Pitch Count Database.  Training classes will be provided before the spring season begins.

Electronic Scorekeeping:
Tablet scoring has become popular in recent years and for good reason.  The advanced stats benefit the coaches with player development and team management along with providing parents with live game status streaming.  Training classes for using the GameChanger application on iPads will be provided before the spring season begins.

Please contact us if you're interested in score keeping for one of our teams [email protected].
