The RBLL junior umpire program is open to young adults aged 13 - 16. Junior umpires must be either a currently registered RBLL player or be on the active roster of the RUHS Baseball team. This program has fostered a culture of community and service in our higher divisions.
Junior umpires serve as our supplemental base umpires for the Double A division during the spring season. Progression to home plate umpire may occur during the season based on skill and experience.
These are just some of the benefits of being a junior umpire for RBLL:
Paid for games worked
Community service hours (2 hours per game)
Snack & drink per shift from the snack bar (subject to availability)
RBLL Junior Umpire shirt and hat
Training by RBLL professional umpire company
Serve as a role model to younger division players
Be a part of a fun and exciting team of young leaders in the Redondo community
Players with a solid working knowledge of baseball rules and regulations may apply for the program. Junior umpires will need to attend two mandatory sessions: an orientation and a training, to be scheduled before the start of the spring season.
The deadline for applications is February 1,2025
