Divisions of Play

Division placement is determined by a combination of variables including player league age, skill level, prior league experience, prior coach recommendation, Little League guidelines and parent input. The registration application will ask several questions to help us determine the correct division for your child based on these variables. You will find information below to help with this process.

Little League Age

We offer many programs for ages 4-16.  Please see the below League Age determination chart as Little League International has recently made changes to the League Age Definition which could impact your child’s age for the 2024 Little League season.  

Special Division Requests

When registering, select the age appropriate division. If you want to request for your son or daughter to be eligible to “play up” in an older division, enter that request in the special request section on the registration form. Please note, however, that limited play up requests will be granted as our experience over many years has shown that players benefit more from being in an age appropriate division as opposed to possibly having to compete for playing time and not pitching in an older division. Likewise, enter “play down” requests in the special request section.

RBLL reserves the right to re-assign a child to a division other than the one in which he or she is originally registered or requested by his parent. This is done for a variety of reasons: safety, the need for equal teams, for the development of any one particular child, to ensure that each division has the requisite number of players, or for the general well-being of the league as a whole.

Buddy Requests

If possible and not guaranteed, two (2) friend requests are honored at the non-competitive Tee Ball, Rookie, Single A, Minis and Minors levels. Friend requests are not honored in the competitive baseball divisions (Double A and above.) 

Uniforms and Team Photos

Each softball and baseball player will receive a uniform shirt, hat, and team photos which is included in the cost of registration.

Game and Practice Schedules

RBLL Softball and Baseball games and practice schedules won't be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete (late January/ early February)

Locations

Our Baseball teams play on real baseball fields with grass infields.  Baseball practices and games are expected to be played at Lincoln Elementary (Anderson Park), Adams Field, Dominguez Park or Perry Park. Softball games and practices will be held at Adams and Anderson Parks on dirt infields.

Snack Bar / Field Day Volunteers

This season (2025) each family is required to complete one snack bar shift or one field maintenance day spanning 3 hours per player.  You have the "one time option" to buyout of the required shifts during registration for $275.  We require a deposit check in the amount of $275, which will be given to your players coach. This will be returned to you once your volunteer shift is completed.

$20 RBUSD Fee

RBLL is required to pay RBUSD a $20 p/player usage fee to use their sites. This fee allows RBLL to use Lincoln and Adams during our baseball season.
